Zip top stops - 2 pack - Clip&Zip

Pack of two zip top stops for zips with missing stops or zip repairs.

These small parts prevent the slider from coming off the top of the zip and are fitted using flat nose pliers.

One size (for size 3, 4 and 5 zips).

Zip top stops

These small parts can be fitted at the very top of your zip to prevent the slider from coming off the top.

Fitting them is easy! Your fabric should be in good condition and there needs to be enough space to fit the metal parts. Place the zip top stop on the fabric and pinch it with pliers to attach it to the zip. The metal should deform a little as it pinches the fabric.

These zip top stops can’t be used to replace teeth on a zip as their size will prevent the zip slider from moving.

These zip top stops are suitable for size 3, 4 and 5 zips.

Larger size 8 and 10 zips require a bigger stop.

How to repair the top of a zip?

Just because a zip is broken doesn’t mean it needs to be completely replaced, you might not have to sew in a new zip.

We sell many products to help you fix damaged zips. For example if the slider’s broken you can fit a Clip&Zip replacement slider — no sewing needed!

If the problem is the zip stop at the very bottom of the zip, you can also replace it with either a Zip box and pin (for single zips), or one with two pins (for double zips).

Lastly, if your zip is a closed-end zip, like the ones you find on boots, trouser flies and handbags, you can replace the square stopper with a new, affordable Zip box.
