Zip stoppers (2-pack)

Set of two stoppers for a closed-end zip (for jeans, boots, trousers etc.)

The two-pointed ends on these small metal blocks close over the fabric to create the beginning of the zip.

One size (fits size 3-4 and 5 zips).

What is a closed-end zip?

A closed-end zip stays in one piece, even when it’s fully open.

These zips don’t need a zip box and pin at the bottom as they don’t need to be held together to be closed. To fasten a closed-end zip, just pull the slider.

Here are some of the places you might find this type of zip:

- handbags and rucksacks

- trousers and jeans

- purses

- pockets

It’s the opposite of an open-end or separating zip that you find on jackets, coats and hoodies.

How to fit a zip stopper on a jeans fly

If the zip stopper has come off of your jeans fly, you can fix it with one of our replacement zip stops. As long as the fabric is clean, you can fit the zip stopper at the very bottom of your zip, before the start of the teeth. Once done, your slider won’t slip off the bottom of the zip, and when you close the teeth, they’ll mesh well.

The zip stopper we sell has two pointed hooks that pierce the fabric and attach to the zip. Then you simply fold the two hooks over, so the zip stopper wraps around the zip (this fixes the stopper in place and ensures the inside of the zip won’t dig into you).

Make sure the square side of thezip stopper faces the outside of the zip and the two hooks are folded down on the inside.

Warning: This zip stopper is too big to be used to replace a missing tooth.
